WHO ARE WE?
We are a group of ?young at heart? over 60s, who meet on Fridays for our lunch club at Buckhurst Hill Baptist Church, but we are in fact more than just a lunch club - so...
WHAT DO WE DO?
From 10.45am onwards we gather for coffee (or tea) and general chat. Soon after 11.30am, news and notices are shared, after which our ?activity? starts. Perhaps we have a quiz or a DVD, or maybe members will bring an item of interest to share with everyone. Sometimes we enjoy a drive out, but usually we have an interesting speaker. Topics cover a wide variety of subjects, ranging from fascinating holidays to Christian outreach projects. We conclude with a time of reflection and prayer.
Then comes a delicious two-course lunch prepared by our dedicated cooks and helpers. We have some good laughs as well as reflecting on serious issues. In particular we support, by prayer and giving, the charities Tearfund and Hope in Sri Lanka.
Why not join us, either as a member (age 60+) or as a helper (any age!).
WHY THE NAME CALEB?
Caleb was a strong Old Testament character still serving the Lord at the age of 85. Read about him in The Bible, in the book of Numbers Chapters 13 & 14 and Joshua Chapter 14.
