COVID-19 — Important information about Sunday services and weekly church activities
We are living in challenging times with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The health and wellbeing of our congregation is our priority. Please be assured that BHBC is closely monitoring and acting on the guidance provided by the UK Government regarding the coronavirus and social distancing recommendations.
Faith groups have now been advised by the Government to avoid meeting physically to help halt the spread of the Coronavirus. This applies not only to Sunday services but all associated gatherings throughout the week and churches are urged to follow Government advice.
Recognising the potential implications of this move, Health Secretary Matt Hancock spoke of “the deepest regret and heaviest of heart” in confirming the news to the House of Commons on Monday night (16 March).
It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce the closure all ministries, meetings and Sunday services until further notice.
We will however meet as a church online from this Sunday. The service may look different each week but we are seeking to ensure that we remain connected as a church in creative ways given the restrictions.
To connect with us on Sunday Mornings at 10.30 please type Buckhurst Hill Baptist Church into the search box on YouTube. Please do join us online!
More information will be published on our church website and Facebook. We are also looking at creative ways to maintain connection as a church and this will be communicated in due course. Let us keep everyone in our prayers.
Regular updates about this and other initiatives will be on our website and on Facebook so we do encourage you to check these regularly.
We would urge you to keep up to date with government guidelines found at gov.uk and particularly with the guidelines on social distancing and household isolation. The current advice is that households must self-isolate for 14 days from the time of any member developing symptoms.

We are trusting the Lord that His Kingdom will continue to advance and that the church will experience His blessing. As the leadership of the church we remain committed to fulfilling the vision which the Lord has given us and we are working on plans to enable us to encourage and support one another. As God’s people we must remain true and faithful to the Lord and develop ways of connecting by phone or through technology.
Let us be praying that the virus be contained and conquered and for the Church to rise up in the power of the Lord so that throughout all this we will continue to be the Church of Christ. We stand in Jesus’ victory and are seated with Him in heavenly places, protected under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91).
God bless and keep you.
JESUS HOPE FOR TOMORROW
